AUTO START USING TRANSDUCERS
LEVEL CONTROL
A level transducer can be used to provide automatic starting and stopping of the pump based on
programmable levels. The panel is defaulted to use a 4-20mA, 0-10 psig (0ā€-277ā€) transducer, and
provides an M12 connector located on the rear of the enclosure which is labeled.
Under the Pump Quick Setup, you set your Start/Stop Input to Transducer and follow the menu where
you can select the desired starting and stopping levels. There is no need to select a drain or fill mode
as the programmed starting and stopping levels will determine which direction the sump will be filled
or emptied.
The default speed control type will be single speed when using level control. You can also select a
Linear or Target throttle mode under using the Quick Setup, Control Type.
Single Speed will run a typical warm up cycle, ramp to the programmed operating speed and remain
there until the level has reached the off set point. At that point, the speed will be reduced to the
cooldown speed and run through the cooldown period before shutting off.
Linear control will allow the speed of the pump to be determined by the signal of the transducer in a
straight line between minimum and maximum speeds.
Target allows you to set a desired level and panel will manipulate the engine speed based on whether
it is above or below the level to achieve the target level.
INLET OR OUTLET PRESSURE CONTROL
The pump can also be start and stopped based on a pressure. The selection and operation is identical
to the level scenario described above. However, you can select Inlet Pressure, Outlet Pressure or a
system pressure as the start stop criteria. The Inlet and Outlet pressure transducers are connected
through the rear mounted, 31 pin Deutsch connector. Inlet is wired to Pin 11 while Outlet is wired to
pin 4. Battery supply is available on pin 30 for the transducer power.
