What to do if my Cornelius Ice Maker dispenses ice continuously?
    • M
      Matthew CollinsAug 18, 2025
If your Cornelius Ice Maker dispenses ice continuously, it might be that the ice gate mechanism is stuck in the open position. Check the gasket for proper positioning and examine the gate plate to ensure it slides freely behind the lower ice chute. Alternatively, the ice dispense lever might be stuck or bent, preventing the gate from closing and opening the reed switch. Inspect the ice dispense lever to see if it is bent.

Why won't my Cornelius Ice Maker dispense carbonated drinks, only syrup?
    • C
      christine57Aug 20, 2025
If your Cornelius Ice Maker isn't dispensing carbonated drinks and only dispenses syrup, it might be due to high CO2 pressure in the carbonator tank. Check the CO2 pressure regulator setting; 75 psig is recommended, and relieve pressure from the carbonator tank if needed. Another cause could be that the water valve isn't opening. Inspect the electrical connection to the water valve, check the coil's resistance (should be 9 ohms), and check for voltage at the coil when the brand button is pressed.

Why are the carbonated drinks from my Cornelius Ice Maker flat?
    • T
      turnersharonAug 23, 2025
If carbonated drinks from your Cornelius Ice Maker are flat, it could be due to a lack of CO2. In this case, replace the CO2. Another possibility is that the carbonator tank is 100% filled because the city water pressure exceeds the carbonator tank CO2 pressure regulator setting. The CO2 setting for the carbonator tank should be 75 psig, with a maximum water pressure of 60 psig. If necessary, install a water pressure regulating valve.

Why is the beverage from my Cornelius Ice Maker too sweet?
    • S
      Scott TorresAug 26, 2025
If your Cornelius Ice Maker is dispensing a beverage that is too sweet, you might need to adjust the valve brix. Alternatively, the carbonator may not be operating correctly, requiring repair. A lack of CO2 in the carbonator could also be the cause; restore CO2 pressure in the carbonator. Low or inconsistent city water pressure supply can also cause this issue; a booster pump must be used if dynamic water pressure drops below 40 psig.

What to do if the carbonator pump won't run on my Cornelius Ice Maker?
    • W
      William WoodAug 28, 2025
If the power cord of your Cornelius Ice Maker is connected but the carbonator pump still doesn't run, the carbonator pump motor might be disabled. Check the enable/disable switch on the carbonator pump terminal box and enable it if necessary. Also, if the probes were dry, the unit was powered up, water was not turned on, and the carbonator did not fill, this results in a 5-minute timeout. Unplugging the unit and plugging it back in will reset the unit and start the carbonator pump. Additionally, if water service was interrupted for more than 5 minutes, unplugging and plugging the unit back in will reset it and start the carbonator pump.

Why is my Cornelius Ice Maker dispensing no syrup or watered-down drinks?
    • K
      Katherine RyanAug 30, 2025
If your Cornelius Ice Maker dispenses no syrup or a watered-down drink, it could be that the syrup supply is empty, so replace the BIB. Another reason might be that the BIB pump isn't working, in which case you should replace the BIB pump. Also, check if there's no CO or compressed air supply to the BIB pump, or not enough pressure. The recommended CO pressure regulator setting is 65 psig. Replace the CO tank or fix the compressor if needed.

Why is the carbonator pump in my Cornelius Ice Maker short cycling?
    • E
      estradacarlosSep 2, 2025
If the carbonator pump in your Cornelius Ice Maker is short cycling with every drink drawn, it could be that the lower liquid level probe reads “dry” while the upper probe reads “wet”. Check the color of the leads going to the probes. Black should go to the bottom probe and white to the top probe. Reverse if incorrect.

Why is there slushy ice or water in the bin of my Cornelius Ice Maker?
    • G
      Garrett GrantSep 4, 2025
If your Cornelius Ice Maker has slushy ice or water in the bin, it could be due to blocked drains in the cold plate. Remove the access covers in the cold plate cover and inspect/clean the drains. Poor ice quality due to water quality or ice maker problems can also cause this; correct the water quality or repair the ice maker.

Why does the carbonator tank in my Cornelius Ice Maker overfill?
    • C
      Cassandra SmithSep 7, 2025
If the carbonator tank in your Cornelius Ice Maker overfills and overflows through the relief valve, and the pump shuts off after 5 minutes, it could be due to poor electrical connections between the carbonator tank and the main control board. Check connections at the carbonator tank and at connector J4 on the main control board. Broken wires between the carbonator tank and main control board can also cause this; replace the wire harness. Additionally, a defective liquid level probe could be the issue; replace the liquid level probe.

Why is the water pressure low in my Cornelius Ice Maker?
    • P
      Peter RossSep 12, 2025
If your Cornelius Ice Maker is experiencing low water pressure, it could be caused by excessively long runs (over 40 ft.) of 3/8” water supply line. Increase the line size to 1/2”. It could also simply be due to low water pressure, in which case you should add a water pressure booster pump. A plugged water filter can also cause this; change the water filter. Finally, if the water booster bladder has burst, replace the water booster tank/bladder.
