  If the power cord of your Cornelius Ice Maker is connected but the carbonator pump still doesn't run, the carbonator pump motor might be disabled. Check the enable/disable switch on the carbonator pump terminal box and enable it if necessary. Also, if the probes were dry, the unit was powered up, water was not turned on, and the carbonator did not fill, this results in a 5-minute timeout. Unplugging the unit and plugging it back in will reset the unit and start the carbonator pump. Additionally, if water service was interrupted for more than 5 minutes, unplugging and plugging the unit back in will reset it and start the carbonator pump.

  If your Cornelius Ice Maker dispenses no syrup or a watered-down drink, it could be that the syrup supply is empty, so replace the BIB. Another reason might be that the BIB pump isn't working, in which case you should replace the BIB pump. Also, check if there's no CO or compressed air supply to the BIB pump, or not enough pressure. The recommended CO pressure regulator setting is 65 psig. Replace the CO tank or fix the compressor if needed.

  If the carbonator pump in your Cornelius Ice Maker is short cycling with every drink drawn, it could be that the lower liquid level probe reads “dry” while the upper probe reads “wet”. Check the color of the leads going to the probes. Black should go to the bottom probe and white to the top probe. Reverse if incorrect.

  If the carbonator tank in your Cornelius Ice Maker overfills and overflows through the relief valve, and the pump shuts off after 5 minutes, it could be due to poor electrical connections between the carbonator tank and the main control board. Check connections at the carbonator tank and at connector J4 on the main control board. Broken wires between the carbonator tank and main control board can also cause this; replace the wire harness. Additionally, a defective liquid level probe could be the issue; replace the liquid level probe.

Why is the water pressure low in my Cornelius Ice Maker?

  If your Cornelius Ice Maker is experiencing low water pressure, it could be caused by excessively long runs (over 40 ft.) of 3/8” water supply line. Increase the line size to 1/2”. It could also simply be due to low water pressure, in which case you should add a water pressure booster pump. A plugged water filter can also cause this; change the water filter. Finally, if the water booster bladder has burst, replace the water booster tank/bladder.
