8.3 Adjusting the trimmer line
Feed out thetrimmer line like this:
1. Run theengine at full speed whilst carrying out points 2–4.
2. Tap thetrimmer head on theground and lift it up again.
3. The line will be fed out automatically.
4. The line will be cut to thecorrect length by thecutter under thetrimmer guard.
5. Switch off theengine and using something like ascrewdriver, clean off any grass and debris from around
the guard and trimmer head, otherwise it could impair thecooling of thedrive shaft.
8.4 Using the 4-tooth brush cutter blade
Use only thesupplied 4-tooth brush cutter blade or anidentical replacement. A saw-toothed clearing
saw blade must not be used.
The 4-tooth blade can be tilted to various angles for cutting brush from around tree trunks.

• Normal use: Use thearc of theblade cutting
circle labelled “A” for normal brush cutting.
• The arc labelled “B” can also be used if
thehandles are held firmly.
• Caution! Never use theblade within arc “C”,
as uncontrolled kickback could occur which
could injure any bystanders or animals within
thedanger zone.
9. Maintenance
Warning: Disconnect thesparkplug lead before carrying out any maintenance.
• Lubricate thepivot after every 25 hours of use:
1. Loosen thehead of thebolt on theside of thegearbox and smear thepivot with some high
temperature grease.
2. Wipe off any excess grease.
3. Tighten thebolt.
• Clean thecooling fins regularly, so theengine is properly cooled.
