5. Assembly
5.1 Assembling the handle
1. Remove thescrews from thehandle bracket attached to theshaft.
2. Attach thehandle to thebracket so that theright-hand side (with thethrottle) is as close to theshaft
as possible.
3. Loosely screw in thefour handle screws.
4. Fine-adjustments to thehandle position should be made when therest of theassembly is completed.
5.2 Attaching the blade guard/trimmer guard
The guard consists of two parts: blade guard and trimmer guard.
• The inner, blade guard must always be attached when using
thebrush cutter blade.
• The outer, trimmer guard (together with theinner blade guard)
must always be attached when using thetrimmer head.
1. Attach theblade guard (2) to thebracket using thesupplied
nuts, bolts and washers.
2. Attach thetrimmer guard (16) to theblade guard using
thesupplied nuts, bolts and washers.
Warning: The trimmer guard must be assembled correctly to protect theoperator and to limit thelength of
thetrimmer line, there is acutter on theguard that cuts theline to theright length.
5.3 Double shoulder harness
Use theharness as follows:
1. Put theharness on so that thetrimmer hanging clip is on theright-hand side and thequick release
tab is on your chest.
2. Hold thetrimmer on your right-hand side and hook it onto theclip.
3. Adjust theharness so that thetrimmer is balanced. Adjust thehandle if necessary.
• When using thegrass trimmer, theharness should be adjusted so that thetrimmer head hangs 0–300 mm
over theground.
• When using thebrush cutter, theharness should be adjusted so that thebrush blade hangs 100–300 mm
over theground.
