5. Assembly
5.1 Assembling the handle
1. Remove thescrews from thehandle bracket attached to theshaft.
2. Attach thehandle to thebracket so that theright-hand side (with thethrottle) is as close to theshaft
as possible.
3. Loosely screw in thefour handle screws.
4. Fine-adjustments to thehandle position should be made when therest of theassembly is completed.
5.2 Attaching the blade guard/trimmer guard
The guard consists of two parts: blade guard and trimmer guard.
• The inner, blade guard must always be attached when using
thebrush cutter blade.
• The outer, trimmer guard (together with theinner blade guard)
must always be attached when using thetrimmer head.
1. Attach theblade guard (2) to thebracket using thesupplied
nuts, bolts and washers.
2. Attach thetrimmer guard (16) to theblade guard using
thesupplied nuts, bolts and washers.
Warning: The trimmer guard must be assembled correctly to protect theoperator and to limit thelength of
thetrimmer line, there is acutter on theguard that cuts theline to theright length.
5.3 Double shoulder harness
Use theharness as follows:
1. Put theharness on so that thetrimmer hanging clip is on theright-hand side and thequick release
tab is on your chest.
2. Hold thetrimmer on your right-hand side and hook it onto theclip.
3. Adjust theharness so that thetrimmer is balanced. Adjust thehandle if necessary.
• When using thegrass trimmer, theharness should be adjusted so that thetrimmer head hangs 0–300 mm
over theground.
• When using thebrush cutter, theharness should be adjusted so that thebrush blade hangs 100–300 mm
over theground.
