3. REMOVAL OF OLD SHIFTER
3.1. Place the High / Neutral / Low gear selector in
the Low position. See Figure 3.1.
3.2. Remove the high - low handle assembly using a
1/2” wrench.
3.3. Separate the connecting rod from the shifter link
assembly by removing the hairpin clip and flat
washer that secure them together.
See Figure 3.4.
3.4. Working from beneath the tractor, remove the
hairpin clip and flat washer that hold the lower
end of the connecting rod to the shift assembly.
See Figure 3.4.
3.5. Remove the hairpin clip and flat washer that
connect the shift assembly to the shift pin
assembly.
3.6. Remove the shift assembly from the frame using
a 9/16” wrench and a 3/4” wrench.
3.7. Remove the bottom right hand side bolt and
spacer that mount the hydro pump to the trans-
mission using a 1/2” wrench.
NOTE: It may be necessary to loosen the other
bottom bolt that mounts the hydro pump to the
transmission. This will relieve the clamping force
that is holding the spacer in position.
