GLOSSARY
SCSI -------------------------------- Refers to the American National Standard for Information Systems Small
Computer System Interface - 1 (X3.131-1986) or the ANSI Small
Computer System Interface - 2 (X3.131-1989). This standard defines
mechanical, electrical and functional requirements for attaching small
computers to each other and to intelligent peripheral devices.
SFP---------------------------------- Small form factor pluggable transceiver.
shared memory (SM) ------------- GT200 memory physically located on the network board. This dual-
ported memory is accessible by the host and the network. A host write to
shared memory results in a transmitted write to all GT200 nodes at the
same relative location.
slave--------------------------------- A functional module that detects DTB cycles initiated by a master, and
when those cycles specify its participation, transfers data between itself
and the master.
slot ---------------------------------- A position where a board can be inserted into a backplane. If the system
has both a J1 and a J2 backplane (or a combination J1/J2 backplane) each
slot provides a pair of 96-pin connectors. If the system has only a J1
backplane, then each slot provides a single 96-pin connector.
system clock driver --------------- A functional module that provides a 16 MHz timing signal on the utility
bus.
Tx ----------------------------------- Abbreviation for transmit or transmitter.
