When undertaking any repair work on the CD player, engineers should note that the player
includes a switching power supply connected directly to live mains and other high voltages,
locatedonthemainPCBintheareahighlightedintheredbox.
Toavoidthedangerofelectricshock‐
Alwaysunplugmainspowerbeforeremovingthemain
PCB.
Neverconnectmainspowertothemainsinletormain
PCB if the main PCB has been removed from the
chassis.
When tracing signals anywhere on the main PCB
exercisecautionto keep fingers, tools and test probes
etcawayfromthehighvoltagepowersupplysectionof
thePCB.
Never use a grounded test probe to test the high
voltage(primary)partofthepowersupply.
Ensure that the chassis insulator is correctly fitted
underthemainsPCBbeforerefittingitintothechassis.
