Host
This is the IP address that will be handed out to the client.
MAC Address
This is the MAC address of the client. Either the MAC address can be
used or the alternative Client Identified parameter can be used.
Client Identified
If the MAC address is not used for identifying the client then the client
can send an identifier in its DHCP request. The value of this identifier
can be specified as this parameter. The option exists to also specify if
the identifier will be sent as an ASCII or Hexadecimal value.
Example 5.2. Static DHCP Host Assignment
This example shows how to assign the IPv4 address 192.168.1.1 to the MAC address 00-90-12-13-14-15. The
examples assumes that the DHCP server DHCPServer1 has already been defined.
Command-Line Interface
1. First, change the category to the DHCPServer1 context:
gw-world:/> cc DHCPServer DHCPServer1
2. Add the static DHCP assignment:
gw-world:/> add DHCPServerPoolStaticHost
Host=192.168.1.1
MACAddress=00-90-12-13-14-15
3. All static assignments can then be listed and each is listed with an index number:
gw-world:/> show
# Comments
- -------
+ 1 (none)
4. An individual static assignment can be shown using its index number:
gw-world:/> show DHCPServerPoolStaticHost 1

Index: 1
Host: 192.168.1.1
MACAddress: 00-90-12-13-14-15

5. The assignment could be changed later to IP address 192.168.1.12 with the following command:
gw-world:/> set DHCPServerPoolStaticHost 1
Host=192.168.1.12
MACAddress=00-90-12-13-14-15
Web Interface
1. Go to: System > DHCP > DHCP Servers > DHCPServer1 > Static Hosts > Add > Static Host Entry
2. Now enter:
Host: 19.168.1.1
MAC: 00-90-12-13-14-15
