Troubleshooting and Repair
2. Heater Removal
Use extreme caution when servicing the base components. The external body of the inline
water heater will become very hot when energized. A large bare conductor is exposed on
the body of the water heater, running diagonally, front to back. The conductor is “live” when
the product is plugged in. Do not touch.
To remove the heater:
• Pul
l the unit from the cutout.
• Remove the back panel.
• Loosen the two clamps that secure the heater to the hoses. Disconnect the wires and
remove the heater assembly from the unit.
• The heater can also be accessed from the front by either removing the entire assembly
and accessing the heater from outside of the unit or by reaching around the sump
assembly to disconnect and remove the heater from this position. Frontal access allows
the repair without pulling the dishwasher from the cabinet.
