Rotor Shaft Axial Play Measurement
1) Assemble dial indicator at the turbine
housing as the shown in figure.
2) Use dial indicator to measure the rotor shaft
axial play with the moving shaft push and
pull. Read the total indicator reading(TIR).
3) Replace the shaft if the measured value is in
excessive of specified limt.

Rotor Shaft Radial Play Measurement
1) Turn over the turbo charger with the turbine
exhaust inlet flange facing up.
2) Install a dial indicator to measure the rotor
shaft radial play.
Use the dial indicator to measure the play.
Read the TIR.
3) Replace the shaft if the measured value is in
excessive of specified limit.
