CAUTION
Tighten due to every means
when tighten cylinder head
bolts. No retighten bolt
before adjust of valve
clearance.
1) Bring the piston in either the #1 cylinder or
the #6 cylinder to Top dead Center
on the compression stroke by turning the
crankshaft until the TDC notchecd line on
the crankshaft pulley is aligned with the
timing pointer.
Check to see if there is play in the #1 intake
an exhaust valve rocker arms.
If #1 cylinder intake and exhaust valve
rocker arms are shifted, the #1 piston is at
TDC on the compression stroke.
If the #1 cylinder intake and exhaust valve
rocker arms are fixed, the #6 piston is at
TDC on the compression stroke.
2) Adjust valve clearances when #1 or #6
piston is TDC on compression stroke.
3) Release adjusted screw. See figure.
4) Insert a 0.4mm filter gauge which is between
rocker arm and valve stem end.
5) Turn the valve clearance adjusting screw
until slight drag can be felt on the feeler
gauge.
6) Tighten lock nut.
7) Rotate crankshaft 360to be realigned
crankshaft pulley TDC notched line with
timing pointer.
8) Adjust valve clearances as shown in figure.
