4.15 REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION, WINDSCREEN
Removing the windscreen
1. Remove the windscreen wipers.
2. Push the glass (or its remnants) out of the
rubber seal.
3. Remove any loose glass particles out of the
rubber seal and clean the latter.
Note:
Wear safety goggles if you clean the rubber
seal with compressed air.
Installing the windscreen
1. Apply a thin bead of sealant in the groove of
the rubber seal into which the glass will be
placed and fit the rubber seal around the
windscreen.
2. Apply a filler strip around the rubber seal in
the groove where the rubber seal will be
around the cab profile.
3. Cover the rubber seal with liquid soap.
4. Place the rubber seal with glass in the
window frame of the cab.
5. Using the filler strip, pull the rubber seal
with glass over the cab profile. Press the
rubber seal firmly from the outside in the
place where the filler strip is pulled out of
the rubber seal.
6. Apply a thin bead of sealing compound
between the rubber seal and the cab to
ensure a proper seal.
7. Clean the entire windscreen and the parts
of the cab body which have been fouled
during installation of the windscreen.
8. Fit the windscreen wipers.
