Derating for ambient temperature
The ambient temperature (T
AMB,MAX
) is the maximum
temperature allowed. The average (T
AMB,MAX
) measured
over 24 hours must be at least 5ºC (9°F) lower.
If VLT 8000 AQUA is operated at temperatures
above 45ºC (113°F), a derating of the continuous
output current is necessary.
The current of VLT 8152-8652, 380-4
80 V and
VLT 8052-8402, 525-690 V, is to be derated
1%/Deg C above 40° C to 55° C maximum.
VLT 8502-8652, 525-690 V is to be der
ated
1.5%/° C above 40° C to 55° C maximum.
Derating for air p
ressure
Below 1000m/3300 ft altitude no derating is necessary.
Above 1000m/3300 ft the ambient temperature (T
AMB
)
or max. output current (I
VLT,MAX
) must be derated
in accordance w
ith the diagram below:
1. Derating of output current versus altitude at
T
AMB
= max. 40°C (113°F)
2. Derating of max. T
AMB
versus altitude at
100% output current.
Switching on the input
