Discovery
About this task
This topic explains how to configure the connection properties for an Auto Discovery
proxy server. A proxy server is only necessary if the VxFlex OS system’s AMS and
nodes are located on different subnets. Ensure that the relevant AMS software is
installed on each proxy server.
Note: In rare cases where nodes are located on a number of subnets, each subnet
must have its own Auto Discovery proxy server. After each Auto Discovery
operation, change the proxy server’s IP address in this window to the proxy server
on the next subnet.
To configure the connection properties for an Auto Discovery proxy server, perform
the following steps:
Procedure
1. From the System Settings menu at the top right side of the window, in any
view, select the System option.
The System Settings window is displayed.
2. In the left panel, click Discovery.
The Set Discovery Configuration panel is displayed on the right side of the
window.
3. In the Auto Discovery proxy IP address box, type the proxy server’s IP
address.
4. Select the Use Auto Discovery check box.
5. Click Save.
Results
The Auto Discovery proxy server connection properties have been added to your
system.
Changing login credentials for existing Management users
Use the VxFlex OS GUI to change login credentials for the host Operating System
user, SVM user, and BMC (iDRAC) user.
Before you begin
About this task
The host operating system user, SVM user, and BMC (iDRAC) user credentials are
configured during initial system deployment. If you need to change any of them, do so
using the VxFlex OS GUI.
Procedure
1. From the System Settings menu at the top right side of the window, select the
System Settings option.
The System Settings window is displayed.
