CAUTION: Disconnecting the I/O board resets the BIOS setup programs settings to default. Before
disconnecting the I/O board, it is recommended to note the BIOS setup programs settings.
Steps
1. Remove the optical drive.
2. Remove the base cover.
3. Remove the battery.
4. Remove the hard drive.
Procedure

CAUTION:
Disconnecting the I/O board resets the BIOS setup program’s settings to default. Before
disconnecting the I/O board, it is recommended to note the BIOS setup programs settings.
Steps
1. Open the latch and disconnect the I/O-board cable from the system board.
2. Lift the I/O board, along with the cable, off the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
