Overview

This document describes the Delta Dore Tybox, a daily/weekly programmable thermostat designed to control your heating system in either Comfort or Setback mode. It provides detailed instructions on various operating modes, programming, and maintenance.

Function Description

The Tybox thermostat allows users to manage their heating system by setting specific temperatures for different periods throughout the day and week. It offers several operating modes:

  • Automatic Mode: The thermostat follows a pre-programmed schedule, automatically switching between Comfort and Setback temperatures.
  • Override Function: In automatic mode, users can temporarily switch between Comfort and Setback modes until the next scheduled program change. For example, if it's 15:30 and the next program change is at 17:00, you can activate an override to switch to Comfort mode immediately, and the system will revert to its usual program at 17:00.
  • Timer Mode: This mode allows users to set a specific temperature for a defined duration, ranging from 15 minutes to 72 hours in 15-minute increments. This is useful for temporary adjustments without altering the main program.
  • Continuous Mode: In this mode, a constant set-point temperature is maintained until the user exits the mode. The temperature can be adjusted from 5°C to 30°C.
  • Absence Mode: Designed for extended periods away from home, this mode sets the heating system to Frost Protection. Users can program the number of days (1 to 365) they will be absent, and the system will automatically resume normal operation at midnight on the return date. The set-point temperature in this mode can be adjusted from 5°C to 15°C.
  • Shutdown Mode: This mode completely shuts down the heating system.

Usage Features

The thermostat is operated primarily through a selector dial and modification buttons.

  • Selector Dial: Used to navigate between different operating modes (Shutdown, Absence, Timer, Automatic, Continuous, Time Setting, Programming, Set-point Temperature Adjustment).
  • Modification Buttons: These buttons are used to adjust settings such as duration, temperature, and program times.
  • Display: The display shows the current time, room temperature, current mode, and program status. Depending on the configuration, it may continuously display either the set-point temperature or the room temperature.
  • Programming:
    • Setting the Time: The selector dial is turned to the time setting mode, and the modification buttons are used to adjust the days, hours, and minutes.
    • Creating a Program: In programming mode, users can define Comfort and Setback periods for each day of the week. The program is created by setting specific times for these modes. The thermostat allows for different programs for each day, or the same program can be copied to other days.
    • Checking a Program: Users can review their programmed schedule by pressing the "OK" button repeatedly to check the accuracy of their settings.
  • Information Button: Pressing this button displays the room temperature according to the installation configuration.

Maintenance Features

The manual also provides information regarding the maintenance and troubleshooting of the device.

  • Battery Replacement: The thermostat is powered by batteries. When the battery level symbol appears, it indicates that the batteries need to be replaced within 1 month. The device uses 2 LR03 batteries (AAA). It is recommended to replace both batteries simultaneously.
  • Troubleshooting:
    • Display Issues: If nothing is displayed on the room unit screen, it could indicate that the batteries are flat or that the unit is not properly clipped to its base.
    • Programming Issues: If the unit is in time setting mode and the time has not been set for more than 2 hours, all other settings will have changed. In such cases, the time needs to be reset, and the program re-entered.
    • Heating System Not Responding: If the heating system does not respond, it is important to check that the thermostat is properly clipped to its base and that the symbols for "no heating" or "no cooling" are not displayed. If these issues persist, contacting customer service is recommended.
    • Incorrect Set-Point Temperature: If the set-point temperature is not correct, it may be due to incorrect programming or a faulty sensor.
    • Heating System in Frost-Protection Mode: If the heating system remains in Frost-Protection mode, it might be due to a specific setting or an issue with the device.

Important Notes:

  • Always read the instructions carefully before installation.
  • Do not attempt to repair the unit yourself; contact after-sales service if needed.
  • The characteristics and illustrations in the document are subject to change due to standards and equipment updates.
