instruction

carefully

setting
up
and
operating
the
saw.
Even
though
you
may
have
used
saws
before,
get
acquainted
with
the
proper
way
to
set
up
and
operate
your
new
saw.
Know
the
major
parts
and
controls
by
studying
the
illustrations
and
suggestions
in
this
booklet
-
th

you'll
know
the
saw
and
do
better
work.
Always
be
careful
when
operating
the
saw

tion
ls

responsibility.
Watch
what
you
are
doing-always

FENCE
GUIDE
BAR
MOUNTING
THE
MOTOR
-
It
may
be more convenient
to mount motor before installing extensions.
1. Screw
belt
guard
stud
in
motor
bracket
(see
Figure
1),

Lock
in
place
with
jam
nut.
Slide pulley on
motor
shaft
(set scrc10 aide aaoay
from
motor)
against
shoulder
on
the
shaft
-
tighten
set
screw.
Wire
motor
cord.
Set
the
blade
at
zero degree.
Remove
saw
blade, lock
bolt
and
tapered
hinge
pin
-
loosen
set
screw
to
remove pin.
Hold
motor
in
left
side
of
saw
cabinet
-
with
front
handwheel,
lower
arbor
until
holes
in
motor
mount
arm
and
motor
bracket
are
in
alignment
-
insert
tapered
hinge
pin. See
Figure
1.
When
knurl
on
pin
is
against
motor
base
bracket,
lock
in place
with
1
/1"
socket
type
set
screw.
Swing
motor
up
until
slots
in
motor
base
brackets
are
in
alignment
with
motor
bracket
lock
bolt
holes-
insert
lock
bolt
from
inside,
making
sure
square
neck
seats
in
slot
-

Place
belts
over
pulleys.
10. Place
washer
and
nut
on
Jo
ck
bolt
and
tighten
with
wrench
furnished
when
belts
can
be
depressed
3/s"
to
½"
with
light
finger
pressure.

1.
Install
guard
between
ESNA
hex
nuts
and
washers
(thin
washers
on
the
outside),
making
sure
belts, pulley
and
motor
shaft
are
clear. Caution - slide blade on

MOUNTING

1. Place
bar
in
rear
trunnion
and lock in place
with
two
set
screws - see
Figure
4.
2. Slide
bracket
on
bar
-
tighten
lock screws,
but
not
securely.
3. Remove
insert
plate
and
the outside lock
nut
on s
plitter
s
upport
stu
d - see
Figure

Place
splitter
guard
assembly
between
bracket
and
plate,
and
the
s
lot
in
front
of
splitter
over
the
stu~
.
If
shims
are
furnished,
they
should
be
between
splitter
and
mounting
bracket
-
see
Figure
6.
5. Now
lower
assem
-
bly
so
bracket
screw
fits
in
splitter
slot,
then
tig
hten
Jock
screw. Replace
Jock
nut
on
support
stud
and
tighten
against
splitter
.

Use
a
square
to
set
/

gle
to
the
table
and

tighten
bracket
screws.

MOUNTING
THE
FENCE
1.
Attach
fence
guide
bar
to
front
of
saw
table
with
screws
and
spacer
bars
furnished.
Adjust
guide
bar
so
it
is
parallel
with
top
of
table
-
an
easy
way
is
to
place a scale on
top
of
the
bar
and
measure
distance
to
top
of
the
table
at
extreme
ends
of
the
table. Do
not
tighten
screws
securely
. To avoid possible
injury,
the
fence
pointer
has
been
reversed
in
the
fence slide
- loosen screw
to
remove.
2.
Now
take
the
fence,
raise
the
fence lock lever, a
nd
place
it
on
the
saw
table
so
that
fence
slide fits on
the
