  A short or no start cycle when cranking the engine with your DieHard Battery Charger can occur for several reasons: * If the cranking draws more current than the Engine Start Rate, crank time may be less than 3 seconds. * Ensure you wait 3 minutes between cranks to allow the battery and charger to cool down. * Check for poor connections at the battery and frame. * Make sure the power cord and any extension cords are not loosely plugged in. * Verify that there is power at the receptacle by checking the fuse or circuit breaker. * The charger may be overheated; ensure the vents are not blocked and wait before trying again. * If the battery is severely discharged, use the 10A Boost setting for a few minutes to assist in cranking.
