LOCATION
Place the machine

The type of work
to
be done will determine
the proper placement. When used for small
short-run obs such
as
cutting
of
small parts,
cutting templates and developing blanks, the
DOALL should be centrally located for several
operators’
use.
Sufficient clearance should be
provided for the shaping of large pieces of
material. When
it
is used for production
sawing,
it
should be placed
so
that work
can
A
be fed into
it
and removed in
a
minimum
t
amount
of time.
It
should
never
be placed
near
inflammable materials which may ignite
from sparks thrown off during friction
saw-
ing operations.

Before bolting the machine
to
the floor,
remove
the block of-wood from under the
motor,
the wire which holds the upper wheel
in place and the wires holding the table slide
rods in position. Do
not
remove
the slide rods
from the bearing
races
as
the dust seals
are
easily damaged
if
proper installation tools
are
not
used when replacing the slide rods. With
solvent
remove
the rust preventative coating
on
the machine. The coating
on
the upper
«-
post and wheel slides is
a
lubricant type
coating‘ and may be left
on.
ALIGNMENT
Before the DoALL.is bolted
into
position,

or
whenever the machine is moved, the
alignment should be checked and the machine
shignrnedmif
necessary.

If
table
is
on
machine,
remove
fill-
er
plate
from
table.
Remove post
saw
guard
from
upper post and shift machine
into neutral.
2. Place
a
1/2"
saw
band
on
wheels
and tension
so
band
is
snug and
rides
properly
on
wheels‘.
(3.) Flanged wheels.
'
The back edge
of
the
band
will
ride
against the flange
when properly tracked.
(b) Center crowned wheels. The
center
of the blade
will
ride
directly
on
L the
crown
with
the blade centered
on
the
wheel
tire
when properly tracked.
