LUBRICATION
The following points should be lubricated
regularly
as
specified.
If
the machine is used
continually by
more
than
one
shift of work-
ers,
we
recommend that
it
be lubricated
more frequently depending upon usage. See
Fig. 39.

Upper Wheel Slides—Grease monthly
through the
two
grease fittings with No.
2 high pressure gun grease.

Upper Wheel Tilt Screw—Oil monthly.
S.A.E. No. 20 oil
on
threads.

Post and Post Blocl:—-Oil monthly. Place
a
few drops of S.A.E. No. 20 oil
on
post
and work
it
up and down in the block.

Tension Screw Thrust Bearing—Grease
fitting,
use
No. 2 high pressure gun
grease monthly.
.
Trunnion—Use S.A.E. No. 20 oil on
slide surfaces and clamp bolt monthly.

Variable Speed Pulley—‘-Lubricate week-
ly with No. 10 high speed spindle oil. Do
not
over
oil the pulley
as
the
excess
will
coat
the belts and
cause
slippage. Every
six months
remove
pulley assembly, wash
and clean with
a
good grade of solvent
and reoil
as
per above.

Hydraulic Tank——Capacity four gallons.
Fill with S.A.E. No. 10 oil. Check oil
level weekly. Drain, clean and refill every
sixmonths.

Tension Screw—Oil monthly. S.A.E.
No. 20 oil
on
threads.
.
Table Slide Rods—Grease fittings. Use
No. 2 high pressure gun grease monthly.
Shifter Swivel, Ball and Rod-Lubricate
with S.A.E. No. 20 oil monthly.

Transmission—Keep S.A.E. No. 20 oil
even
with top of filler pipe. Check month-
ly, drain and refill every three months.
Speed Change Screw and Gears—A few
drops of S.A.E. No. 20 oil monthly.
IVIotors—Follow
motor
manufacturer’s
specifications for lubrication and main-
tenance.
Oilers for the butt welder
motor
are
located
on
the welder panel.
Air
Pump—-Check oil level daily and {ill
.
to
oil level mark with S.A.E. No. 10
motor
oil. Drain and refill with fresh oil
monthly. Flush and clean air cleaner in
solvent.
