What to do if Dometic CapTouch Control Unit does not heat?
    • L
      Laura WardDec 1, 2025
If your Dometic Control Unit does not heat, consider the following possible causes: * The unit may not have a heating cycle. Most units have a reverse cycle to create heat, but some units may not have this function. * The display may be set to cool-only or electric heat. Change the parameters on the display or press the Mode button to activate heating or automatic. The auxiliary electric heat will not function if the display is set to auxiliary electric heat and the unit does not have an auxiliary electric heater added. * The reversing valve may be stuck. Lightly tap on the valve with a rubber mallet while the unit is in heat mode. Call a service technician if that does not correct the problem. * The seawater temperature may be too low. For the unit to heat (if the reverse-cycle o...

How to fix lack of airflow in Dometic Control Unit?
    • E
      emily51Aug 27, 2025
A lack of airflow in your Dometic Control Unit can be caused by: * Blocked or restricted airflow. Remove any obstructions in the return-air stream. Clean the return-air filter and grille. Check for crushed or restricted ducting, ensuring it is straight, smooth, and taut. * The fan speed being set to manual low. Raise the speed to a higher setting or set to automatic mode. Alternatively, increase the minimum low speed in the program parameters. * The fan coil may be iced. Refer to “The fan coil is iced”.

How to fix iced fan coil in Dometic CapTouch?
    • J
      Javier SolomonAug 28, 2025
An iced fan coil in your Dometic Control Unit may be due to: * The humidity level being set too high. Close the hatches and doors. * The supply air short-cycling. Redirect the supply air so that it is not blowing in or near the return-air stream. Seal any air leaks on the duct. * Blocked or restricted airflow. Refer to “There is a lack of airflow”. * The fan running too slow. Set the fan speed to automatic mode or increase the manual fan speed. Or, increase the minimum low speed in the program parameters. * The system running continuously. Close hatches and doors, raise set point, turn on de-icing.

What to do if Dometic CapTouch switches to heat while in cool mode?
    • M
      Monica FergusonAug 31, 2025
If the Dometic Control Unit switches to heat while in cool mode, it is possible that the de-icing feature is enabled because the coil might be icing up during long run times. Reprogram the de-icing cycle under the parameter settings.

What to do if condenser coil is iced while in heat mode in Dometic CapTouch Control Unit?
    • S
      Sarah LopezSep 1, 2025
If the condenser coil is iced while in heat mode in your Dometic Control Unit, the seawater temperature is likely below 40 °F (4 °C). Shut down the system to prevent damage to the condenser and allow the coil to defrost.

How to troubleshoot Dometic Control Unit air conditioning unit not responding to display changes?
    • B
      Billy McneilNov 21, 2025
If your Dometic air conditioning unit isn't responding to changes on the display, it could be due to: * A power interruption, voltage frequency fluctuation, electromagnetic interference, or similar power-related issue. Perform a factory reset of the display: Turn the power off, disconnect the cable from the display, turn the power on, wait 20 seconds, turn the power off, reconnect the cable, and turn the power on. This will reset all parameters to factory defaults. * The circuit board recognizing previously connected displays. No answer. * The display-cable plugs not making contact (e.g., unplugged, dirty, bent, or broken pins). The display may show ‘999’ or ‘- - -‘ if unable to communicate with the unit. With the power off at the circuit breaker, remove the connector and inspect it...

Why Dometic Control Systems compressor does not run?
    • D
      Daniel WardSep 23, 2025
The compressor might not run because a relay on the circuit board has shorted open, so call service to verify and replace the board. Also, there might be an open overload on the compressor, so call service to verify and repair.

What causes a low-pressure fault in Dometic Control Systems?
    • E
      emily24Sep 12, 2025
A low-pressure fault can be caused by a few things. The low-pressure switch might be open due to low seawater and/or low return-air temperatures, so try to restart the air conditioner. It could also be open due to a loss of refrigerant, so check the air conditioner for a refrigerant oil leak and call for service. Finally, the low-pressure switch might be defective or a wire might be loose, so contact a maintenance dealer to test the low-pressure switch and to ensure the wires are properly connected.

Why Dometic Control Systems runs continuously?
    • E
      Erin WhiteSep 9, 2025
The system might run continuously if the unit is not able to reach the set point, so close all the terminal holes and hatches, and adjust the set point so it is not too low for cooling or too high for heating. Also, the seawater temperature might be too high for cooling or too low for heating. The optional inside air temperature sensor might not be located properly, so verify the display location with the criteria found in the installation section of this manual and install an optional inside air temperature sensor if necessary. Finally, the de-icing feature might not be enabled, so enable de-icing in the parameters.
