What to do if Dometic Control Systems fan coil is iced?
    • J
      Joseph CoxSep 14, 2025
The fan coil can ice up if the humidity level is set too high, so close the hatches and doors. Also, the supply air might be short-cycling, so redirect the supply air so that is not blowing in or near the return-air stream and seal any air leaks on the duct.

Why Dometic Control Systems fan does not run or runs continuously?
    • M
      Margaret MontesSep 13, 2025
The digital control might be set for either fan cycling with compressor or for continuous fan operation. Change the fan operation to continuous fan operation or fan cycling with compressor. Note that a shorted relay or tri-ac may cause the fan to never shut off or never turn on.

Why Dometic Control Unit system does not power up?
    • S
      Scott SavageAug 25, 2025
The Dometic Control Unit system might not power up due to several reasons: * The air conditioning unit circuit breaker might be off. Turn it on at the ship’s panel. * The display might not be turned on. Turn on the display. * The terminal strip might be miswired. Check the wiring diagram and correct if necessary. * The input-line voltage might be insufficient. Check the power source for proper voltage, wiring, and terminals. Verify the voltage at the unit matches the power source with a voltmeter. * An electrical component might have failed. A technician should inspect the display, cable, and circuit board for a red light.

How to improve airflow in Dometic Control Systems?
    • M
      michaellindseySep 12, 2025
A lack of airflow may be due to several reasons. The airflow may be blocked or restricted, so remove any obstructions in the return-air stream, clean the return-air filter and grille, and check for crushed or restricted ducting. The fan speed may be set to manual low, so raise the speed to a higher setting or set to automatic mode. The fan coil may be iced, refer to “The fan coil is iced” in this table.

Why Dometic Control Systems runs continuously?
    • E
      Erin WhiteSep 9, 2025
The system might run continuously if the unit is not able to reach the set point, so close all the terminal holes and hatches, and adjust the set point so it is not too low for cooling or too high for heating. Also, the seawater temperature might be too high for cooling or too low for heating. The optional inside air temperature sensor might not be located properly, so verify the display location with the criteria found in the installation section of this manual and install an optional inside air temperature sensor if necessary. Finally, the de-icing feature might not be enabled, so enable de-icing in the parameters.

What to do if Dometic Control Systems unit does not heat?
    • S
      Steve SteeleSep 7, 2025
Several factors can cause the unit not to heat. First, check if the display is set to cool-only or electric heat and change the parameters on the display or press the Mode button to activate heating or automatic. If that doesn't work, the reversing valve might be stuck; try lightly tapping on the valve with a rubber mallet while the unit is in heat mode. If that does not correct the problem, call a service technician. Also, make sure the seawater temperature is 40 °F (4.44 °C) or higher. Another cause may be a loss of refrigerant gas, so check the air conditioner for a refrigerant oil leak and call for service. Finally, for CW systems only, be sure the chiller is in heat mode and check the water temperature at the digital control.

Why Dometic Control Systems do not power up?
    • D
      Dr. Renee HernandezSep 6, 2025
There are several reasons why the system might not be powering up. The air conditioner circuit breaker might be off, so turn it on at the ship's panel. The display might not be turned on, so turn it on. The terminal strip might be miswired, so check the wiring diagram and correct if necessary. The input-line voltage might be insufficient, so check the power source for proper voltage and verify with a voltmeter that the power at the unit is the same as the power source. Finally, an electrical part may have failed, in which case a technician should inspect the display, cable, and circuit board.

What causes low-AC voltage fault in Dometic CapTouch Control Unit?
    • U
      ugutierrezSep 5, 2025
A low-AC voltage fault in your Dometic Control Unit can occur if: * The supply voltage is too low. Use a multimeter to verify that constant, steady power is available to the unit. * The voltage is improperly calibrated, if applicable. Use a multimeter to verify that the voltage reading to the unit matches the voltage calibration in the parameters. Adjust the voltage calibration if necessary.

What to do if Dometic CapTouch Control Unit pump does not shut off?
    • M
      Maria VangSep 2, 2025
If the pump for your Dometic Control Unit does not shut off, it may be due to: * The circuit board being shorted. Call service to verify if a relay on the circuit board is shorted or if the pump relay board is defective, if applicable. Replace any board that is shorted. * The pump parameter on the display being set for the pump to run continuously. Change the parameter on the display so the pump cycles with the compressor.

What to do if condenser coil is iced while in heat mode in Dometic CapTouch Control Unit?
    • S
      Sarah LopezSep 1, 2025
If the condenser coil is iced while in heat mode in your Dometic Control Unit, the seawater temperature is likely below 40 °F (4 °C). Shut down the system to prevent damage to the condenser and allow the coil to defrost.
