The Donaldson Torit RF Baghouse Dust Collector is a continuous-duty dust collection system designed to handle high-volume, high dust-load applications, with capacities up to 141,000 cfm, depending on the specific application and dust type. Its continuous-duty design allows for on-line pulse cleaning of the bag-style filters without interrupting airflow through the collector. A solid-state timer ensures that the bag-style filters are cleaned at least once every four minutes.
Function Description:
The collector operates by drawing dust-laden air into the dirty-air inlet. For models with an involute scroll-style inlet (RFWP), a cyclonic airflow is generated, causing heavier particulate matter to drop directly into the hopper. The air then passes through an internal flow straightener, which evenly distributes the dust-laden air across the collector's cross-section and around the filter bags. Lighter dust collects on the outside surface of each filter bag, forming a dust cake. Clean, filtered air then passes through the filter bags into the clean-air plenum and exits through the clean-air outlet.
For models with a high body inlet (RFWPH), designed for lighter density dusts or highly abrasive materials in continuous 24/7 operations, the air enters the dirty air plenum and passes through a set of self-sacrificing air distribution baffles. These baffles reduce the inertia of abrasive materials, causing much of the dust to fall into the hopper. The 3/16-inch plate heavy-duty baffles offer long-term abrasion resistance and can be easily replaced through an access door on the inlet housing.
The cleaning system utilizes a positive-displacement (PD) blower to supply pressurized air. When the solid-state timer energizes a solenoid valve, a diaphragm valve opens, directing a high volume of pressurized air through manifold arms and into the filter bags. This dislodges the dust cake, which then falls into the hopper for discharge into a drum, bin, rotary valve, screw conveyor, or pneumatic conveying system.
