Detect Control Failure
As shown in Table below, the ECU performs self diagnosis. If a fault/failure is detected, engine check lamp lights
up and failure code (DFC) is indicated by the number of flashes of the engine check lamp.
Enter the DFC Display Mode as follows:
- Repeat Releasing/Depressing of the acceleration pedal for three cycles within five seconds from Key On to
enter the Display Mode
- In the Display Mode, the Fault Code is displayed with the lamp repeatedly until Key OFF by the user
DFC Display Rule is as follows:
- All the Fault Codes are indicated with three digits
- The places of a Fault Code are separated by short pauses (0.5 sec), and in case of two or more Fault Codes,
the delay term before the next Fault Code display is a pause (1.2 sec).
- To notify the driver of the end of the Fault Display, a Long Pause (5 sec) followed by 12 (1 flash, short pause,
2 flash) is displayed.
