Encoder not connected or
configured incorrectly
Verify the encoder settings
in the Printer configuration
and check to make sure
encoder wheel is connected
and turning. The speed of
the encoder should be
greater than zero in the
print window when printing.
Edge sensor is not
connected or failed
Verify edge sensor is
triggering. Press CTRL-
ALT-M with the cursor in
the print status window. A
message for each edge
should appear in the
window when an edge is
detected.
Invalid cartridges If the printer requires
licensed cartridges and
they are not detected at
print start an Invalid
Cartridge message will
appear. No pens with
invalid cartridges will print.
Incorrect Voltage or Fire
Time
In the Printer Configuration
window under advanced
settings ensure that the
voltage and fire time are not
too low.
Print quality is poor Nozzles are clogged Print nozzles can become
clogged if the printer is idle
and the cartridge is not
capped. Check the decap
time for the ink in use. If the
printer will be idle for
extended periods during
printing, turn on spitting to
clear the nozzles before the
next print or wipe the pens.

“Setting up a Printer” in this
manual.
