5 Troubleshooting
Fault / message Cause Remedy
Instrument cannot
be switched on.
Battery empty. Replace the battery.
Volume too low /
sample invalid.
Test subject is blowing
intermittently or not
hard enough.
Blow more strongly and
without interruptions
into the mouthpiece.
Volume too large Measuring range
exceeded.
Repeat breath test.
Instrument outside
temperature range
Instrument too hot or
too cold.
Allow the instrument to
cool down or become
warmer.
Measuring range
exceeded
Measuring range
exceeded. Residual
mouth alcohol may
cause incorrect
measuring values.
There must be an
interval of at least
15 minutes after alcohol
has been taken into the
mouth (see page 6).
To repeat, press the
button.
Sample interruption Abrupt breath
interruption or
inhalation detected
Repeat breath test.
Fault number Instrument fault Switch the instrument
off and on again. If the
fault remains, contact
DrägerService.
