6.2 Visual inspection of chemical protective
suit
The following examinations are mandatory. The chemical
protective suit must be repaired or disposed of in case of
defects.
No holes, cuts or abrasions must be found on the outside
of the chemical protective suit.
The seam band must not be coming apart in any way.
The visor must be clean.
The following parts must be undamaged:
a. Suit material
b. Gloves
c. Socks or boots
d. Visor
e. Visor seal
f. Closure system and cover
The suit valves must be clear and undamaged.
The suit material must not have any signs of wear. The
coating must not come apart from the fabric.
6.3 Cleaning and disinfecting the chemical
protective suit
6.3.1 Manual cleaning and disinfection
1. Remove rucksack pad (if fitted) and clean separately with
clean, warm water.
2. Remove the ventilation unit, D-connect, antifog visor and
Fall-Connect (if fitted), clean and disinfect separately.
3. Unfasten the protective caps, the cover of the suit valves (if
fitted) and valve discs of the suit valves.
4. Remove the gloves if necessary:
If the chemical protective suit is equipped with a glove
combination, the glove combination must be removed
and disposed.
If Tricotril overgloves were used, remove them but do
not wash them. Contaminated Tricotril overgloves must
be replaced.
If K-MEX-Gigant overgloves were used, remove them
and clean separately.
FKM/butyl gloves can remain on the suit during manual
cleaning.
5. Clean the valve discs separately with clean, warm water.
6. When using cleaning agents and disinfectants:
a. Prepare a cleaning solution containing water and a
cleaning agent.
b. Clean the chemical protective suit and all reusable
components with a soft cloth and cleaning solution.
c. Thoroughly rinse all parts under running water.
d. Prepare a disinfectant bath containing water and a
disinfectant.
e. Put all parts that require disinfection (chemical
protective suit, cover for the suit valves, valve discs,
and protective caps) in the disinfectant bath.
7. When using a combination agent:
a. Make a solution containing water and the combination
agent.
b. Place the chemical protective suit, cover for the suit
valves, valve discs, and protective caps in the solution.
8. Rinse all parts thoroughly under running water.
9. Dry all parts (see Chap. 6.3.3 on Page 28).
6.3.2 Mechanical cleaning and disinfecting
The following accessories are required for mechanical
cleaning:
Industrial washing machine Dräger CombiClean
or equivalent
Washing agent: Eltra
For dosage information, see information 9021380
Washing bag
Supporting disc
The industrial washing machine must have the following
features:
Drum volume >130 litres
Drum diameter >60 cm
Door opening >45 cm
Programmable logic controller
Electronic temperature control ±2 °C
Drum speed: max. 20 rotations/minute (2 slow rotations in
one direction, 18 seconds wait time, 2 slow rotations in the
other direction, 18 seconds wait time)
Clean and disinfect the chemical protective suit as follows:
1. Remove the antifog visor, ventilation unit, D-connect and
Fall-Connect (if fitted), clean separately and disinfect.
Then rinse thoroughly in clean water.
CAUTION
Risk of damaging the material!
Do not use any solvents (e. g. acetone, alcohol) or
cleaning agents containing abrasive particles for
cleaning and disinfecting. Only use the prescribed
process and use the cleaning and disinfection agents
given. Other agents, dosages and contact times may
damage the product.
For information about suitable cleaning agents and
disinfectants and their specifications, refer to
document 9100081 at www.draeger.com/IFU.
CAUTION
Risk of damaging the material!
The antifog properties can disappear as a result of
cleaning and disinfection. Do not immerse the antifog
visor in the liquid longer than 5 minutes.

WARNING
There is the risk of contamination if the glove
combination is not replaced!
No assurance has been made that the material will be
able to withstand repeated chemical exposure.
CAUTION
Risk of damaging the material!
Leave the rucksack pad (if fitted) in the chemical
protective suit, as the components on the inside of the
chemical protective suit can be damaged by the hook-
and-loop strips.
The antifog properties can disappear as a result of
cleaning and disinfection. Do not immerse the antifog
visor in the liquid longer than 5 minutes.
