3Use
3.1 Prerequisites
Follow exactly the valid national regulations relating to the use of
air purifying respirators (in Germany e.g. BGR
190, in Australia
and New Zealand e.g. AS/NZS
1715:2009, in the US e.g. 29 CFR,
Part 1910.134).
The ambient conditions (in particular type and concentration of the
contaminants) must be known. Use the appropriate respiratory fil
-
ters. If the pollutant is not known, only use compressed-air breath-
ing apparatus or an air line system.
Always use two respiratory filters of the same type from a single
pack.
Air purifying respirators may only be used if the air does not pres-
ent an immediate danger to your life or health.
It must be ensured that the surrounding atmosphere cannot
change unfavorably.
Do not use air purifying respirators if there is suspicion of contam-
inants with low warning properties (smell, taste, irritation of eyes
and airways). In this case leave the danger area immediately, as
the half mask can start to leak.
Do not enter unventilated areas such as containers, shafts, or
ducts when wearing this half mask.
Do not use in enriched oxygen atmospheres.
