3.2.3 Donning the half mask
1. Make sure that the correct respiratory filters are fitted.
2. For Dräger X-plore 3500 only: Close the clasp.
3. Draw the buckles of the head harness up to the end of the harness.
4. Pull the neck strap through completely until the buckles of the
head harness touch the yoke of the half mask.
5. Put the neck strap around your neck (refer to figure D).
6. Position the half mask over mouth and nose (refer to figure E).
7. Place the head harness over the back of your head, with the head
harness above your ears (refer to figure
F).
8. Pull the ends of the top straps until the half mask rests tightly
against your face.
9. Tighten the top and bottom straps uniformly. If necessary, adjust
the harness again until the half mask rests against your face tightly
and comfortably.
10. Carry out a leak test.
3.3 Leak tests
WARNING
The half mask may not fit correctly over facial hair or features
– danger of poisoning!
The half mask must fit tightly and the respiratory filters must be
fitted before entering the contaminated area.
NOTICE
The pad cap of pad-particle filters does not provide an airtight
seal for the gas filter and/or the pad plate. Thus, it is necessary
to carry out the positive pressure test for pad-particle filters.
