Cleaning, disinfecting, drying
Cleaning: The mask must be cleaned every time before being used by
multiple users or, if individually assigned, as often as necessary to keep
in a sanitary condition. Do not use any organic solvents such as
acetone, alcohol etc. to clean the rubber. Clean the mask with a cloth
and lukewarm water mixed with a mild detergent or an all-purpose
detergent, e.g. Airkem 33. Rinse thoroughly under running water.
Maximum water temperature 60 °C (140 °F).
Disinfecting: The mask body must be disinfected every time before
being used by a different individual or, if individually assigned, as often
as necessary to keep in a sanitary condition. Insert the mask body in
a disinfectant bath such as e.g. Airkem 33. Excessive disinfectant
concentrations and too long disinfecting times can damage the mask.
Rinse thoroughly under running water. Maximum water temperature
60 °C (140 °F).
Drying: Towel dry or leave to dry in a drying cabinet or in air.
Maximum temperature 60 °C (140 °F). Keep out of direct sunlight.
Visual Inspection
The mask must be inspected before and after every use.
Visual inspection of exhalation valve: Remove the protective cap from
the mask connector and pull out the valve disc. The valve disc and seat
must be clean and undamaged. Clean or replace if necessary. Moisten
the valve disc with water before fitting it.
Maintenance
Replacing the lens: Undo the two clamping screws. Pry the clamping
frame apart with a screwdriver at the connecting points, then pull it off
to the top and bottom. Remove the support if necessary. Detach the old
lens from its rubber frame and insert a new lens, first in the upper half
and then in the lower half of the rubber frame.
Insert the lens first in the upper and then in the lower part of the rubber
frame. The center marks on the lens should be aligned with the seam
on the facepiece. Draw the rubber frame over the edge of the lens on
the right and left. Moisten the outside of the rubber frame and the inside
of the lens frame with soap solution. Fit first the upper, then the lower
lens frame. Fit the support if necessary. Insert and tighten the clamping
screws.
Replacing the control valves of the inner mask: Pull out the old valve
disc towards the inside. Insert the stud of the new disc into the hole
from inside, and pull it towards the lens until the undercut of the stud is
visible. The valve discs should make even contact with the inside
surface.
Replacing the exhalation valve disc: Remove the protective cap.
Grip under the edge of the valve disc and pull the stud out of the hole.
Clean the valve seat. Moisten the new valve disc with water and press it
into the hole until it engages. The valve disc must make even contact all
round. Refit the protective cap so that it engages.
Replacing the inhalation valve discs: Pull the inhalation valve out by its
edge. Remove the old valve disc and fit new discs. Stretch and press
the inhalation valve discs around the stem until it makes even contact all
around. The valve discs must not be pinched.
Only use original Dräger parts.
Leak and seal checks must be repeated after maintenance work
and/or after replacing components.
Storage
Loosen the straps as far as possible. Wipe lens with anti-static cloth.
Pack mask in its bag or box and store it in a dry, dust-free place where
it is not deformed.
Storage temperature: –15 °C to 35 °C (5 °F to 95 °F) is recommended.
Keep out of direct sunlight and heat.
