set
up
and
operate
your
new
automatic
turntable.
By
doing
so,
you
will
avoid
faulty
operation
or
possible
damage
due
to
mistakes
in
installation.

Unpacking
Remove
all
parts
used
for
packing,
including
the
wedges
between
the
chassis
and
the
turntable,
Notice
whether
a
cartridge
is
fitted
in
the
tonearm
head
and
remove
the
protective
cap
from
the
stylus,
Instructions
for
fitting
the
cartridge
as
well
as
technical
data
on
factory-fitted
cartridges
are
found
on
a
separate
sheet
enclosed
with
this
instruction
manual,
Set
stylus
pressure
dial
to
O.
If
the
tonearm
does
not
float
freely
in
a
horizontal
position,
adjust
balance
as
described
on
page
10.
Now
set
st¥lus
pressure
to
that
recommended
for
your
car-
tridge.
Note:
after
each
installation
and
after
each
transport
of
the
Dual,
it
should
be
started
once
with
its
tonearm
locked.
Just
move
the
operating
switch
to
“start”.
This
is
to
ensure
that
the
shut-off
mechanism
will
bein
the
correct
position.
Installation
These
instructions
apply
only
if
you
have
pur
chased
the
turntable
as
a
separate
component
If
your
system
requires
a
preamplifier,
make
the
necessary
connections
to
this
unit.
The
following
instructions
are
extremely
sim-
ple
Press
the
chassis
mounting
screws
toward
the
edge
of
the
chassis
with
your
thumbs
and
set
the
chassis
down
on
the
base
cut
out
so
that
the
three
spring
cups
slip
into
their
holes,
Then
turn
the
mounting
screws
screws
clockwise.
The
chassis
is
now
spring-
mounted
,
To
secure
the
unit
for
transport,
unscrew
the
mounting
screws,
pull
them
up,
then
turn
them
further
until
the
chassis
is
se-
cured
tightly
to
the
mounting
board.
To
prepare
the
automatic
turntable
for
use
again,
turn
the
two
screws
clockwise
until
they
slide
down
about
3/4",
then
continue
to
turn
in
the
same
direction
until
they
are
tight.
Connection
to
power
line
For
units
already
installed
in
console
or
com-
pact
systems,
consult
the
instructions
for
the
system
The
unit
can
be
operated
from
alternating
current
at
50
or
60
Hz,
110-125
or
220-240
volts,
It
is
normally
supplied
ready
for
use
on
220
volt,
50
Hz
current.

change
over
the
voltage,
remove
the
power
switch
cover.
Changeover
is
carried
out
according
to
model
by

reconnecting
the
motor
supply
leads using
the
connection
diagram
in
the
power
switch
cover,

The
power
switch
is
designed
to
accommodate
preamplifiers
or
power
amplifiers
so
that
they
will
be
switched
on
and
off
with
the
turn-
table,
The
load
on
the
power
switch
must
not
exceed
400
VA
(Volt-amperes).
It
is
gener-
ally
used
only
with
all-transistor
amplifiers,
which
have
no
warm-up
delay.
The
connection
is
made
for
contacts
pro-
vided
on
the
plug
portion
of
the
power
switch.
It
this
case,
the
line
cord
is
to
be
fitted
with
AMP
plugs
as

Preamplifier
An
equalizer-preamplifier
is
necessary
if
your
stereo
amplifier
or
receiver
does
not
have
a
direct
input
for
a
magnetic
cartridge.
We
recommend
the
equalizer-preamplifier
Dual
TVV
47,
which
has
plug-in
connections
and
fits
into
the
base
of
the
player
unit.
This
player
meets
international
safety
stand-
ards
for
radio
and
realted
equipment
(IEC
65)
and
is
approved
by
the
various
national
safety
organizations
(VDE,
SEV,
SEMKO,
CSA,
UL,
etc.).
