TROUBLESHOOTING ALARMS
Alarm
Problem
Solution
Emergency stop
pressed
At system power up you will have this
message and it will also appear when an
E-stop button is pressed
Release all E-stop push buttons and re-arm
the E-stop loop by pressing on the rearm
push button
Safety fence door
opened
Each time the fence door is opened, you
will have this alarm showing on the HMI
Close the fence door, release all E-stop
push buttons and re-arm the E-stop loop by
pressing on the rearm push button
Fence door locking
problem
A fence locking request is made (machine
in start mode, manual movement inside
fencing) and fence does not lock
Verify that the lock is well inserted in the
key switch. Verify all fence doors are locked
(if applicable). Make sure the key switch is
functioning properly
Light curtain fault
An object passes through the light curtain
at the wrong moment or not in the proper
sequence
Verify the light curtain and muting
photoeyes alignment. Make sure the
photoeyes are positioned at an angle
(especially with reflective film). Make sure
the muting signal reaches the light curtain
Lack of air pressure
(under 40 PSI)
The air pressure drops below 40PSI. Just
a brief pressure drop is sufficient to fault
the system
Verify if sufficient air pressure is applied to
the pneumatic system. Verify for proper
Filter-Regulator operation
Variable frequency
drive (VFD) fault
Each time that a VFD goes into fault
Open the control panel door and note which
VFD is faulted and which fault code it is. To
clear the fault, press the rearm push button
Lack of film
Film roll is finished or film is torn
Thread the carriage with new film roll (if
needed) and secure the film tail in the
clamp
Spring/prox. is misadjusted. Drive delivers
more than 0.5Hz when dancer bar is
retracted
Verify drive, and then refer to spring/prox.
adjustment procedure
Low film warning
The film roll reaches a critical level (almost
no film left on the roll) the machine will
notify the operator that a film roll
replacement is imminent
Replace film roll
Carriage gate open
during rotation
The carriage gate is not closed properly or
the proximity sensor is misaligned.
Make sure the carriage gate is fully closed.
Look through the hole on carriage hood, the
proximity status light (yellow in color)
should be “ON”
Carriage up/down
motion problem
The carriage is commended to go up or
down and does not reach its position
within 60 seconds (depending on machine
specifications)
First try the machine in manual mode.
Then, verify for proper VFD functioning and
also verify for proper “Lowered” and
“Raised” limit switch operation
