8 Decommissioning
For the installation, maintenance and cleaning of the units, it is
absolutely necessary to observe the applicable ordinances and
provisions concerned with explosion protection (VDE 0160, VDE 0165 or
EN60079-14, EN50014-50039) as well as the Accident Prevention Reg.
Installation, maintenance and cleaning of the units must only be
performed by persons trained and authorized for this purpose, insofar
as they are familiar with the units.
Work on electrically live parts, except for intrinsically safe circuits, is
prohibited on principle if there is any danger of explosion.
Whenever you open covers or remove parts – except if this is easily
possible by hand – it is possible that electrically live parts may be
exposed. Even terminal components may be electrically live.
8.1 Dismantling the Components
Before commencing any work on the system or in the enclosure, switch off the supplies to
the system and all units located in the enclosure and secure them against renewed
powering-up. Remove the units mounted on and in the EEx-p enclosure only with the voltage
switched off, and if possible outside the hazardous area. First remove the electrical cables
leading to the outside and between the components, and then dismantle the
digital/proportional controller, the pressure regulator and the monitoring unit.
8.2 Disposal and Recycling
The EEx-p system F-350 as well as all optional devices belonging to the system – insofar as
they were delivered by E.L.B. Ex – Geräte GmbH, Bensheim – will taken back by the
manufacturer for a small fee. Proper disposal by the user is then no longer necessary.
