  If the guide bar and chain on your Echo Chainsaw are getting hot and smoking, here's what could be happening: * The chain might be too tight; try adjusting the chain tension. * The oil tank could be empty, so add more oil. * There may be a blockage in the discharge port due to contamination; remove the guide bar and clean the discharge port. * The oil tank might be blocked because of contamination; clean the oil tank and add new oil. * Contamination might be blocking the guide bar and the oil tank cap; clean both. * The sprocket or guide wheels could be blocked by contamination; clean them.

  If the motor of your Echo Chainsaw runs but the chain doesn't rotate, it could be due to a few reasons: * The chain might be too tight, so try adjusting the chain tension. * The guide bar and chain could be damaged; replace them if necessary. * The motor itself might be damaged. To check: 1. Remove the battery. 2. Remove the guide bar scabbard. 3. Remove the bar and saw chain. 4. Clean the machine. 5. Install the battery and operate the machine. If the sprocket rotates, the motor works; if not, contact an Authorized ECHO Dealer.
