      Matthew CurtisJul 28, 2025
Your Echo Trimmer might not start due to several reasons. There might be no electrical contact between the machine and the battery, so remove the battery, check the contact, and reinstall it. The battery could also be depleted, so ensure it is charged. Finally, make sure you are pushing the lock-out lever and trigger switch at the same time. Push the lock-out lever and hold it, then pull the trigger switch to start the machine.

How to fix the Echo DSRM-2100 line if it won't advance?
    • S
      Samantha GarrettAug 1, 2025
If the line on your Echo Trimmer isn't advancing, it could be due to a few reasons. The lines may be welded together; try lubricating them with silicone spray. You might not have enough line on the spool, so install more line. The lines could be worn too short, in which case you should advance the cutting line. Alternatively, the lines might be tangled on the spool; remove the lines and wind them properly.

What to do if my Echo Trimmer stops while cutting?
    • S
      Sean MoodyAug 14, 2025
If your Echo Trimmer stops while cutting, several factors could be at play. Ensure the debris shield is attached to the machine. If not, remove the battery and attach the debris shield. Also, check if you are using heavy cutting line; use only nylon cutting line of 0.095" diameter or smaller. The grass might be winding around the motor shaft or the trimmer head; stop the machine, remove the battery, and clear any grass. The motor could be overloaded; remove the trimmer head from the grass, and it should recover. When cutting, move the trimmer head in and out of the grass, removing no more than 8" in a pass. The battery or machine might be too hot; cool the battery and/or machine. Ensure that the battery is correctly installed. If the battery is depleted, charge it.
