6.2. FILTER REPLACEMENT

6.3. MEMBRANE REPLACEMENT

1 Open puried water faucet while the system is plugged in, close feed water valve, close

pressure tank valve (if installed).

2 Wash your hands with anbacterial soap thoroughly.

3 Aer water has stopped running from puried water faucet, unplug the RO system from

the mains and screw o three lter housings. Take care as the bowls will be full of water.

4 Remove spent lters.

5 Wash the bowls thoroughly with non-aromac soap, and then rinse with water.

6 Install new lters in bowls.

7 Unplug feed water tubes from the two rst-stage membrane housings and put them in a

container for collecng rinse water. Plug the cord in mains and openfeed water valve 5.

Let enough water through the lters to ush out the carbon nes and dust. When run-

ning water becomes free of carbon parcles, close feed water valve. Plug the tubes back

in the inlets in membrane housings. Secure connecons with locking clips.

8 Open feed valve and plug the system in the mains. Let the RO system run for some me

with open puried water faucet to wash o carbon nes from carbon post-lter. Close

puried water faucet when water appears clear and free of parculate impuries.

1 Shut o feed water valve, close pressure tank valve (if used).

2 Open puried water faucet to relieve pressure in the system. Remove power from the

system.

3 Unplug tube from each membrane housing cap. Screw o the housing caps. Extract

used membranes from membrane housings and take note of their orientaon inside the

housings.

4 Take new membranes and grease their brine seals and membrane housing cap O-ring-

seals.

CAUTION! Only use food grade glycerol or cered RO membrane compable lubricant

for greasing the seals to avoid damage.

5 Install new RO membranes in housings observing proper orientaon of each.

CAUTION! Do not remove plasc bag when installing membrane. Make a cut in the

head end of the bag and push the membrane out of the bag into the housing. Do not

touch membrane surface with your hands.
