8. TROUBLESHOOTING
Sanizaon of the reverse osmosis system is recommended aer it has been in operaon for an
extended period (over 6 months) or when the system is to be shut down for 3 weeks or longer. It is
also advisable to sanize the system when replacing lters.
6 Screw on membrane housing caps.
7 Plug tubes back in the housings.
8 Open feed valve 5. Restore power supply to the system.
9 Let the system run for 30 minutes to ush out membrane preservave. Then, close
puried water faucet and open pressure tank valve (if used).
Problem Possible cause Method of handling
Fing leak Tube is not connected ghtly Remove and reinstall the tube
properly.
Filter housing leak O-ring seal is missing or mis-
aligned
Check that the O-ring seal is
correctly seated in circular
groove inside bowl.
Filter bowl is not ghtened Hand ghten the housing ll
snug.
Puried water ow rate is
lower than normal
Low feed water pressure If feed water operang pres-
sure is lower than 2 bar
(29 psi), eliminate any
upstream pressure drop and
consider installing pressure
booster pump.
Clogged pre-lter Replace pre-lter.
Clogged membranes Replace membranes.
Bent exible tube Inspect the tubing and
straighten if necessary.
Puried water runs normally
for a few seconds, then slows
down to a trickle (in a pressure
tank equipped system)
Deated pressure tank bladder Pressure tank must drain
empty when puried water
tap is open and the RO system
is unplugged. If the pressure
in the bladder of empty tank
is less than 0.4 bar (5.8 psi),
inate to required pressure.
