What to do if ECS NM70-M power is on, fans are running but there is no display?

First, ensure that your monitor is powered on and the cable connecting it to the PC is securely attached. Also, verify that the VGA adapter card is properly inserted. Listen for beep sounds during startup; if you're using an internal PC speaker, make sure it's connected, as 3 short beeps indicate a memory detection issue, and 1 long beep followed by 8 short beeps suggests a problem with the VGA.

How to fix ECS NM70-M Motherboard if the PC suddenly shuts down while booting up?

If your PC shuts down suddenly, it might be due to CPU overheating. Apply thermal grease to the CPU heatsink and ensure the CPU fan is securely connected and functioning correctly. You can also try disabling the Smartfan function in the BIOS settings to run the fan at its default speed. Loading Optimized Defaults in the BIOS will also disable Smartfan.

Why ECS NM70-M system does not power up and the fans are not running?
    • S
      Stephanie EllisAug 27, 2025
If your system isn't powering up and the fans aren't running, try these steps: Disassemble the PC, removing the VGA adapter card, DDR memory, LAN, USB, keyboard, and mouse, leaving only the motherboard, CPU with cooler, and power supply connected. Ensure the power cord is plugged into the wall and the PSU switch is on. Also, remove any loose screws or metal objects from inside the PC case to prevent short circuits. Check that the CPU FAN connector is connected to the motherboard. For Intel platforms, inspect the CPU socket for bent pins, as these can cause boot failures and permanent damage.

What to do if ECS NM70-M Motherboard has start up problems after prolong use?
    • H
      Hannah MosleySep 3, 2025
If you're experiencing startup problems after prolonged use, try clearing the CMOS values using the CLR_CMOS jumper. After clearing the CMOS, load Optimized Defaults in the BIOS setup. Check the CPU cooler fan for dust and clean it, or replace it if necessary. Remove the hard drive, optical drive, or DDR memory to identify any faulty components. Inspect for bulged electrolytic capacitors or other abnormal components.
