6.3 Accuracy
The reading of cover will only be accurate if all the following conditions are satisfied:
The instrument has been zeroed.
The search head is over the centre-line of the bar.
The search head is parallel to the bar.
The search head is not over, or near, any other bars which might affect the reading

If the reinforcement bar is too deep to measure successfully (over-range), the depth of cover will be
displayed as infinite (Figure 13).

o. If reinforcement bars are too close together to measure with the standard search head, try using the narrow
pitch search head. See “Accessories” on page 33 for ordering details.
