How to troubleshoot no sound from Electro-Voice Zx1-Sub?
    • C
      Christina HansenJul 26, 2025
If your Electro-Voice speakers aren't producing any sound, first ensure all electronics are powered on and the signal routing is correct. Verify the source is active and the volume is turned up. If a test speaker works with the amplifier, the issue lies within the wiring. Check the wire pairs connected to the amplifier. Play audio at a low level and connect the test speaker in parallel with the malfunctioning line. A drop in sound level indicates a short in the line. Normal sound level suggests an open wire. Test each connection until you find and correct the issue, ensuring correct polarity.

      Devon ChapmanAug 2, 2025
If you hear constant noise from your Electro-Voice speakers, such as buzzing, hissing, or humming, and no program material is playing, the issue likely originates from the signal chain in the electronics. Evaluate each component to identify the source of the noise. Also, check and correct the system grounding to eliminate potential ground loops.

Why is the bass weak on my Electro-Voice Speakers?
    • W
      woodsaustinAug 18, 2025
If your Electro-Voice speakers have poor low-frequency response, it might be due to the speakers being wired out of polarity. When speakers are connected out of polarity, the low frequencies will cancel each other acoustically. Check the wire markings on your speaker wires. Make sure that the amplifier (+) terminal connects to pin 1+ and the amplifier (-) terminal connects to pin 1- of the NL4 connector.
