and adjust
the
stitch width,
so
that
the needle passes through the eyes
of
the
button.
Sew 6

stitches. Pull the thread through underneath and knot.

buttons often have
to
be
sewn
on,
the button
foot
will
be found
to
be
of
great help (see

Place
a
piece
of
soft cord under
the
sliding sole
of
the
foot,
leaving a certain
amount
of
cord sticking
out
at
the
front
of
the
foot. Sew the
buttonhole
covering the cords
on
both
sides of
it. Next, pull the right end of the cord. Cut both ends flush
with
the buttonhole.

Sew
over
the frayed edges
with
a fairly loose satin stitch.
If
the
material
is
out
of
shape,
reinforce
it
underneath
with
paper.
