Refilling with en-
gine oil
If the oil level is too low, instigate the next steps to correct the level.
1. Make ready the engine oil to top up with.
2. Put the filling funnel into the engine's filling opening that was previously
opened.
3. Just put a small amount of engine oil in the funnel and wait until the oil has
drained down completely.
4. Remove the filling funnel.
5. Compare the oil level against the image Fig. 9-2 Optimal engine oil level (at
the bottom right) and repeat steps 2 to 4 until the engine oil has reached the
top of the filling opening.
6. Clean the locking screw with a clean cloth and turn it clockwise up to the stop
in the filling opening.
The oil level has been checked and topped up.
9.3.2 Changing the engine oil
The engine oil in your generator needs changing after the first 20 operating
hours, at the latest however after a month, to remove all of the abrasion material
produced during the run-in phase. Subsequent oil changes should be made ev-
ery 50 operating hours or after three months at the latest (see Maintenance
schedule 9.1 ).
