Initial Installation
QUALIFIED INSTALLERS ONLY
INTRODUCTION:
This section of the owner’s manual is for the use of qualied technicians only. Fireplace placement,
hearths, facing, mantles, and venting terminations will be covered, as well as the gas and electric
systems. There are several installation safety guidelines that must be adhered to. Please carefully read
the safety precautions at the front of this manual.
Warning: Clearances must be sufcient to allow access for maintenance and service.
VENT HEAT SHIELD SET-UP:
The vent shield must be set-up prior to the Retreat
being installed.
1. The heat shield is shipped at (see Figure 9). The
at shield must be bent up 90° to the top of the
unit (see Figure 10).
2. Bend the two (2) side aps 45° back around the
vent (see Figure 11).
