Risks through incorrect handling of centrifuge
Risks through incorrect handling of rotors
Caution! Damage to device by knocking / moving running centrifuge
Deflection of the rotor shaft may cause the rotor to strike hard against the wall of the
rotor chamber. Serious damage inside the device should be expected here.
→ At all events avoid knocking or moving the centrifuge to another location when
running.
Warning! Personal injury and damage to property through objects within safety
zone
Objects within the safety zone of the device will be set in motion by the vibrations and
may cause accidents.
→ Maintain a safety clearance of 30 cm between the device and other objects
according to the recommendations of EN 61010-2-020.
Caution! Damage to device through loose rotor or rotor lid
→ Always secure the rotor and rotor lid as described in the operating manual.
→ The centrifuge may only be operated with the rotor and rotor lid firmly tightened
(as required).
Warning! Risk through asymmetric loading of rotor
→ All places of the rotor should be loaded with identical buckets or tubes.
→ Always use tubes of the same type.
→ Fill tubes opposite each other with the same quantity of liquid. This can be
checked by taring the tubes with a balance.
→ Only load adapters with the tubes and plates designed for this purpose.
Warning! Damage to device through overloading of rotor
→ Do not exceed the data marked on each rotor for the maximum load (adapters,
tubes and contents) per rotor bore / per bucket.
Caution! Damage to device through corroded or damaged rotor
→ Check accessories regularly.
→ Protect the rotor from mechanical damage. Even minor scratches or cracks may
result in serious internal material damage.
→ Do not use rotors which show signs of corrosion or mechanical damage.
→ Do not use buckets showing signs of corrosion or mechanical damage (e.g. bent
supporting walls).
