6•8 DIFFERENTIAL LOCK (H124DN)
• The differential lock is a device allowing the drive to be restored to
the two rear wheels if one of them starts slipping (item 2 page 10).
• H124DX being 4 wheel drive machines, they do not need any
differential lock. In case of left or right train sliding in slopes, you
just need to lock the steering wheel to get better adhesion on tyres.
6•9 STARTING AND STOPPING THE
CUTTER (BLADES)
H124DN - H124DX
6•9•1 STARTING THE CUTTER
• Move the throttle hand-lever to the “MAXI” position.
• Push the electromagnetic clutch switch to engaged position.
• The cutting device can only be activated with the driver seated, the
grassbox in normal working position, rear side closed and if the
retractable side parts are fitted on the cutting device.
6•9•2 STOPPING THE CUTTING DEVICE
• To stop the cutting device, move the switch to position “0”.
• The cutting device will stop when the box opens.
• It will only re-start when the box returns to the normal working
position.
• Stoppage of the engine caused by the driver leaving his seat will in
stop the cutting device.
• Official stoppage time of the blade should be lower than 7 sec.
H124DL
6•9•3 STARTING THE CUTTER
• Move the throttle hand-lever to the “MAXI” position.
• Push the electromagnetic clutch switch to engaged position.
• The cutting device can only be activated with the driver seated and
if the grassbox is in normal working position.
6•9•4 STOPPING THE CUTTING DEVICE
• To stop the cutting device, move the switch to position “0”.
• The cutting device will stop when the box opens.
• It will only re-start when the box returns to the normal working
position.
• Stoppage of the engine caused by the driver leaving his seat will in
stop the cutting device.
• Official stoppage time of the blade should be lower than 7 sec.
6•9•5 CONTROL SWITCH « MOW IN REVERSE »
Once the cutter is in operation, press this switch (item 29 page 10)
once to mow with the machine in reverse. Otherwise the cutter
disengages as soon as you select reverse. It will re-engage with the
advance lever when it reaches Neutral or Forward. If you disengage
the cutter with the engage cutting system switch or if a safety feature
trips it, you will have to reengage the cutter.
6•10 DRIVING THE MOWER
• Release the parking brake.
• Slowly press the right-hand pedal to move the machine forward, or
the left-hand pedal to reverse.
• Select the speed corresponding to the quality of cut required.
• A clean cut will not be obtained if the speed selected is too high or
if the rotation speed of the cutter drops due to overloading.
• For best results always keep the engine at full speed when mowing.
• If the engine speed drops when cutting long grass or mowing on a
slope, do not press harder on the control pedal, but instead reduce
speed. The pedals do not control engine speed and cannot be used
as an accelerator.
WARNING ! In order to stop the mower rapidly, release
the control pedal and put the parking brake on.
• Pressing one of the pedals whilst the parking brake is on will cause
the engine to stop.
6•11 CUTTING HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT
The cutting height is adjusted using the three-position control switch
(item 4 page 11) and the selection button (item 5 page 11) situated to
the right of the seat.
The adjustment must be made with the operator sitting on the seat
and the diesel engine running.
The adjustment may be made with the engine off, if the machine is
switched on (ignition key in position 1).
CAUTION : For this operation the operator must also be
seated on the seat, so as to avoid any risk of crushing his
feet. There is also a risk of running down the battery.
6•11•1 EXPLANATION OF THE FUNCTIONS
Of the switch :
• Placing the switch in the rear position brings the cutting deck up to
the maximum height (140 mm, transport position).
• Placing the switch in the forward position brings the cutting deck
down to the cutting position selected.
• The neutral position allows adjustments to be made if required
between the different positions provided without checking the values.
Of the selector button :
• Allows the cutting height to be selected from the 9 positions offered
and memorises the position selected after changing to the transport
position.
NOTE : The figures on the label indicate in mm the 9 possible
positions
of adjustment (45, 55, 65, 75, 85, 95, 105, 115, 125 plus a
transport position at 140 mm not indicated on the label).
6•11•2 ADJUSTMENT OF THE CUTTING HEIGHT
From the transport position :
• Place the indexing stud (a picture 6) of the selector button opposite
the value of the cutting height desired indicated by the label (b
picture 6). Place the switch in the forward position. The cutting deck
places itself in the position selected.
NOTE: It is recommended that the switch be left in this position.
Adjustment from any other position :
• To a lower cutting position : place or leave the switch in the forward
position, then position the indexing button on the new value selected.
• To a higher cutting position : place the switch in the rear position
(the cutting deck rises to the maximum position), then select the
new position and place the switch in the forward position.
Memorisation of the position selected:
• When moving the machine, but not cutting and when going over
any obstacles, it is recommended that the cutting deck be placed in
the transport position.
• When the switch is in the forward position, the cutting deck returns
to the working position set before going over the obstacle or
moving the machine.
