Exterior Equipment
Side Storage/life Jacket Compartments
There are storage compartments on each side
of the cockpit. The compartments are designed
to accommodate life jackets or dunnage. Each
compartment drains to the bilge and is accessed
by a door secured with “push to close” latches.
Forward below Deck Fishbox
An insulated shbox is located below the cockpit
sole, just forward of the console seat. The hatch
is equipped with a gas charged spring that holds
the hatch in the open position. Drain rails around
the hatch drain by gravity to a thru-hull tting in
the hull below the water line. A ush, twist lock
latch secures the hatch in the closed position.
Always make sure the hatch is closed with the
latch in the secured position before operating the
boat above idle speed.
The shbox is drained by a macerator pump
activated by a switch in the helm switch panel.
Be sure to monitor the water level in the shbox
closely during pump out operations and turn the
pump o as soon as pumping is complete. The
pump could be damaged if it is allowed to run dry
for more than 30 seconds. The sh box should be
pumped out and cleaned after each use. Refer to
the Drainage Systems chapter for more informa-
tion on the shbox system.
Bow Seats and Storage Compartments
There are two storage/cooler compartments lo-
cated in the bow below the port and starboard
seats. The compartments are insulated and can
be used for dunnage, coolers or shboxes. They
are equipped with gas charged hatch springs that
hold them in the open or closed position and drain
overboard by gravity through ttings in the hull
sides. Drain plugs can be inserted in each drain
tting to control drainage or isolate the compart-
ments from the seawater. If the compartments
are used as shboxes or coolers, they should be
cleaned and ushed thoroughly with fresh water
after each use.
Rod storage racks are integrated into each com-
partment. Special pads on each compartment
hatch secure the rods in the racks when the hatch
is closed. Always make sure the rods are properly
secured in the racks with the rod tips forward.
