Why is there porosity and discoloration in my Everlast Welding System weld?
    • D
      douglasjohnsonAug 23, 2025
If you are experiencing porosity, discolored weld color, and too much spatter when using your Everlast Welding System, there might be several reasons. For stick welding, the arc length might be too long or the amperage might be too high. For TIG welding, in addition to the above reasons, the flow rate of shielding gas might be too low, the post flow period might be too short, or the TIG cup size might be wrong.

Why is there porosity in my Everlast Welding System weld and discoloration?
    • M
      Matthew BowersAug 26, 2025
For stick welding, using too long of an arc length or too high of amperage can cause porosity, discoloration, spatter, and tungsten discoloration. For TIG welding, these issues can arise from the same causes, as well as a low flow rate of shielding gas, too short of a post-flow period, or the wrong TIG cup size.

What to do if my Everlast POWERARC 140ST runs but won't weld and the red LED is on?
    • A
      april88Aug 27, 2025
First, check to ensure you have a sound work clamp connection. Next, verify that the work/torch cable is securely fastened to the DINSE connector. If the overcurrent light is on after the cool-down period, reset the main power switch. If the issue persists, contact Technical Support.

What to do if Everlast POWERARC 140ST Welding System arc has difficulty establishing?
    • J
      James HicksAug 27, 2025
If you're having trouble establishing an arc and the welding rod is sticking, ensure you are not using wet welding rods. Increase the amperage. Use fresh rods and make sure you are using the correct polarity.

Why is my Everlast Welding System arc difficult to establish and the welding rod keeps sticking?
    • C
      Chris BryanSep 15, 2025
Difficulty establishing an arc and welding rod sticking can occur due to wet welding rods, amperage being too low, or incorrect polarity. Use fresh rods and turn up the amperage.
