What to do if the Everlast Welding System tungsten is rapidly consumed?
    • R
      Robin MartinAug 23, 2025
If the tungsten is rapidly consumed, it may be due to inadequate gas flow, using too small of a tungsten, or using the wrong shielding gas. Ensure you are using only Argon (Ar) and avoid green tungsten; instead, use red thoriated or another suitable color. Check that the polarity is correct and avoid using too much AC cleaning.

What to do if the Everlast Welding System shows porosity of the weld?
    • K
      Kelly StewartAug 25, 2025
If you observe porosity or discoloration in the weld, or the tungsten is discolored, consider the following: the shielding gas flow rate may be too low or too high. The post flow period might be too short. The TIG cup size could be incorrect. Check for possible gas leaks, internally or externally, due to loose fittings. The base metal may be contaminated with dirt or grease.

What to do if the Everlast Welding System arc is unstable?
    • M
      michelle79Aug 27, 2025
If experiencing an unstable arc, the issue may stem from a poorly ground or shaped tungsten. Regrind the tungsten to the proper point. Too much AC positive polarity could be the cause; reduce the balance to 30% or less and increase the AC frequency. Also, inspect the work clamp and its cable connection for any issues.

What to do if the Everlast Welding System tungsten is contaminated?
    • M
      Mackenzie RileyAug 28, 2025
If the tungsten is contaminated and the arc changes to a green color, it may be because the tungsten is dipping into the weld. Check and adjust the stick out to a minimum of 1/8 inch. If the tungsten is melting, reduce the amperage or increase the tungsten size.

What does it mean when the over current LED illuminates on my Everlast Welding System?
    • N
      nielsenlynnSep 23, 2025
If the over current LED illuminates, it means the duty cycle has been exceeded. Allow the machine to cool and make sure the fan is not blocked.
