Why is the Plasma Arc unstable on my Everlast Welding System?
    • W
      wayne97Sep 23, 2025
If you're experiencing an unstable plasma arc with your Everlast Welding System, it may be due to a poorly grounded unit or worn consumables.

What to do if my Everlast Welding System runs, but will not weld in either mode?
    • C
      carl07Aug 25, 2025
If your Everlast Welding System runs but won't weld in either mode, ensure you have a good ground connection. Verify that the ground cable and TIG Torch are securely fastened to the lug and receptacle. Also, double-check that the switch is correctly selected for TIG, MMA (Stick), or Plasma (Cut) mode.

Why is there porosity in my Everlast PowerPro 256 Welding System weld?
    • A
      Ashley MillerAug 26, 2025
If you're experiencing porosity in your weld, discolored weld color, or a discolored tungsten when using your Everlast Welding System, consider the following: * Check for a low flow rate of shielding gas. * Ensure the post flow period isn't too short. * Verify you're using the correct TIG cup size. * Look for possible gas leaks internally or externally due to loose fittings. * Make sure the base metal is clean and free from dirt or grease.

What to do if I have heavy slag on the underside of the cut with my Everlast Welding System?
    • C
      Collin McgeeAug 27, 2025
If you're experiencing heavy slag on the underside of the cut with complete cut through when using your Everlast Welding System, try increasing the cutting speed or reducing the cutting amperage to better suit the metal thickness. Also, ensure your standoff distance is no more than 1/8 inch and check for worn consumables.

Why is the cut quality poor or irregular with my Everlast PowerPro 256 Welding System?
    • J
      Jessica JohnsonAug 27, 2025
If you find the weld quality is poor or irregular when using your Everlast Welding System, check and adjust your settings. Try increasing or decreasing the air pressure and inspect the consumables for wear.

Why is the weld quality poor in stick mode on my Everlast Welding System?
    • R
      robert66Sep 15, 2025
If, while in stick mode, the weld quality is poor or the bead is piled up or ropy when using your Everlast Welding System, use the stick electrode holder in DC+ for most welding situations, as only certain electrodes can be used in DCEN. Increase the arc force control to improve penetration.

Why does my Everlast PowerPro 256 scratch start in TIG, but not start with HF?
    • Q
      qdukeSep 12, 2025
If your Everlast Welding System will scratch start in TIG but not start with HF, consult Everlast support for proper point maintenance gaps, as the HF points may be out of adjustment. Check for a disconnected HF ground wire or a disconnected terminal plug internally. Also, ensure the switch position is not placed in “stick” mode.

Why is the tungsten contaminated on my Everlast PowerPro 256 Welding System?
    • A
      Amanda BauerSep 14, 2025
If the tungsten is contaminated when using your Everlast Welding System, it might be dipping into the weld. Check and adjust the stick out to meet welding conditions and torch angle. Reduce the amperage or increase the tungsten size.

Why are the electrodes and tips rapidly consumed on my Everlast Welding System?
    • J
      Jose RussellSep 5, 2025
If the electrodes and tips are being consumed rapidly on your Everlast Welding System, ensure adequate airflow and that there is no water in the air supply. Check for poor cutting technique and return to a stand-off cutting distance of no more than 1/8 inch. Also, check and tighten the consumables.

Why is the Tig arc unstable on my Everlast PowerPro 256 Welding System?
    • K
      Kathy JonesSep 2, 2025
If your Everlast Welding System's Tig arc is unstable, check the polarity. Also, check for excess or inadequate argon flow. Install the TIG torch for DC- (negative) polarity and the Stick electrode holder for DC+ (positive) polarity. Ensure the tungsten is not contaminated; grind it to a point 2.5 times the diameter of the tungsten. Avoid using green tungsten (pure) under any circumstance, even for AC operation. Check the work clamp location and connection, changing the location or grinding the area if needed. Do not intentionally ball the tungsten; use a sharpened point, as inverters do not need a balled tungsten. Avoid dipping the tungsten into the weld pool.
