Using Your Evinrude E-TEC G2 Outboard
Important On-Product Labels
This outboard comes with hang tags and la-
bels containing important safety information
about the operation of the outboard. Any per-
son who operates this outboard should read
and understand this safety information.

All outboards have the following labels at-
tached:
Warning Symbols
The following symbols are used together to in-
dicate “CAUTION: Read the engine’s Opera-
tor’s Guide before proceeding.”

NOTICE
Ignition timing is set at the factory. Do NOT adjust!
Refer to the correct Service Manual for ignition
timing requirements and timing verification
procedure.
Timing pointer is NOT set at the factory and MUST
be set BEFORE making any timing adjustments.
After making any adjustments, be sure plug is
securely installed to prevent loosening during
engine operation.
